Forum Thread: How to Use Basic Linux Commands

This is a how to guide for using the basic commands for the Linux command line. This is for people who are new to Linux and are still trying to figure out the basics on how to operate the system.

The first command you'll need is the ifconfig command this brings up all the systems information as far the IP address and the computers physical address.

The next Command is the arp command this brings up all the IP addresses that your computer is connected too it also tells you the physical address inn order with the IP addresses.
